Rob Hardy, director of ‘Empire’ and various silver and small screen productions, spoke to African American Studies students on Wednesday about career aspirations and the portrayal of black women in television and film.
Assistant professor of African American Studies and Women’s Studies, AnneMarie Mingo, invited Hardy to speak to the students of her new course on ‘Scandal,’ a TV drama that focuses on a fictional black woman named Olivia Pope, a successful political publicist in a romantic affair with the president of the United States.
