In 2015, Crystal R. Sanders, Ph.D. (Associate Professor, AFAM & History) wrote an articled titled “Blue Water, Black Beach: The North Carolina Teachers Association and Hammocks Beach in the Age of Jim Crow,” that was published in the North Carolina Historical Review. UNC-TV decided to make a documentary based on the article and it aired recently for the first time.  It will be shown several more times over the next few weeks (on UNC-TV and the NC Channel) but you can see it whenever you want by clicking on the link below.
